Woke In My Chair

I WOKE IN MY CHAIR AND I CLIMBED UP THE STAIRS, LOOKED IN THE MIRROR, THERE WAS NOBODY THERE. THE CLOCK ON THE WALL TOLD ME NO TIME AT ALL, THE HANDS AND THE HOURS AND THE MINUTES HAD GONE. THE HOUSE WAS'NT WARM. IT HAD COME OVER CHILL. I WENT OUT IN THE WORLD AND THE WORLD HAD STOOD STILL.

JUST ACROSS THE STREET, I SAW SOME PEOPLE THAT I KNEW. PUT OUT MY HAND TO GREET THEM AND MY HAND WENT STRAIGHT THROUGH.

THEY WERE'NT MOVING OR TALKING, THEY WERE STUCK THERE ON PAUSE. I WAS LOOKING FOR CLUES. I MUST FIND OUT THE CAUSE.

THERE WERE BUSES AND CARS, JUST LIKE ANY OLD DAY, AND PEOPLE INSIDE THEM NOT GOING NOWHERE.

I SHOUTED AND SCREAMED, BUT THERE IS'NT A SOUND. NOTHING, BUT ME AND MY MOVIN' AROUND.
THE PHONE IS'NT WORKING, THE RADIO'S DEAD, CA'NT GET A PICTURE ON MY TELEVISION SET.

FEELS LIKE I'M WALKING.

BUT CA'NT FEEL MY FEET,
SUN'S IN THE SKY,
BUT THERE
IS'NT NO
HEAT.
